Our Recovery Programs

The Women's Resilience Centre offers free, trauma-informed programs accessible to women nationwide through our secure online platform. Our evidence-based programs address the core needs women require to recover and rebuild their lives after domestic abuse and trauma. Having served over 500 women across more than 160 locations throughout Australia, our online programs create lasting, measurable impact.

Each program is delivered by qualified facilitators in a safe, confidential environment where women can connect with others who understand their journey while developing practical skills for independence. Whether you're focusing on financial stability, employment readiness, parenting confidence, or emotional wellbeing, our comprehensive approach supports every aspect of rebuilding a thriving life free from abuse.

Employment Readiness

  • This program designed to help women on their journey to:

    • Understand how to package your existing experience to step confidently back into the workforce.

    • Develop your resume.

    • Develop practical tools to help you interview well and present your experience confidently.

    This program is trauma informed and lends on the neuroscience of how the brain works relative to self confidence to support confidence building and taking ownership of skills.

    Topics covered include resetting your brain for starting or changing employment, applications & interviews, and the importance of asking for what you want.

  • This program runs for 6 weeks and is 90 minutes each week.

  • TERM 2: Mondays online. Commencing Monday 19 May to 7 July 2025. 12:00pm to 1:30pm.

    TERM 3: Mondays online. Commencing Monday 4 August to 15 September 2025. 12:00pm to 1:30pm

    TERM 4: Mondays online. Commencing Monday 27 October to 1 December 2025. 12:00pm to 1:30pm

Financial Wellbeing

  • This program designed to help women on their journey to:

    • Better understand their relationship to money and how to manage personal finances, including budgets, debts and financial recovery.

    • Overcome the fear of money management and how to create a solid financial base to move forward from.

    • Develop practical skills and a money mindset.

    The program is trauma informed and utilises a number of self awareness exercises to help participants disconnect from their fears and phobias and instead connect to their capabilities.

  • This program runs for 6 weeks and is 90 minutes each week.

  • TERM 2: Thursday online. Commencing Thursday, 8 May to 12 June 2025. From 12:00pm to 1:30pm.

    TERM 3: Thursdays online. Commencing Thursday, 31 July to 4 October 2025. From 12:00pm to 1:30pm.

    TERM 4: Thursdays online. Commencing Thursday 23 October to 27 November 2025. From 12:00pm to 1:30pm.

Parent Support: Reclaiming Strength Within Families

  • This program is designed to help women on their journey:

    • Wishing to reset their lives after experiencing domestic violence, trauma, or challenging life transitions.

    • This six-session program empowers single mothers to reconnect with their strength and build a new path forward.

    • Each fun, interactive session helps develop emotional resilience, positive parenting strategies, self-regulation tools, and practical life management skills.

  • This program runs for 6 weeks and is 120 minutes each week.

  • TERM 2: Thursdays online. Commencing Thursday 15 May to 12 June. From 6:30pm - 8:30pm.

Artist’s Way

A supported recovery and discovery program through the power of journaling.

  • This program designed to help women on their journey:

    • Wishing to reset their lives after experiencing domestic violence, trauma, or deep loss. Learrn the power of journalling.

    • Learn new ways to connect with a trusted community

      and support your inner growth.

  • This program runs for 6 weeks and is 120 minutes each week.

  • TERM 2: Tuesdays online. Commencing Tuesday, 6 May to 5 August 2025. From 12:00pm to 2:00pm.

Building Resilience

After Divorce, Separation or Loss

  • This program designed to help women on their journey to reinvent their life after a divorce, separation or just a big loss.

    You will learn more about:

    • Why a divorce or break-up affects us so deeply.

    • How to understand your grief around the relationship and “what could have been”.

    • How to cleanse your space and mindset for healing.

    • How to release old attachments to people no longer in your life.

    It is normal to be experiencing a range of conflicting feelings or a loss of confidence. Working through these emotions begins the healing process. This program is trauma informed and will make use of a variety of tools to help you navigate the rebuilding journey.

  • This program runs for 5 weeks and is delivered in person and online. In person sessions are 2 hours each at our Mona Vale centre and online sessions runs for 90 minutes each week.

  • TERM 2: Tuesdays online. Commencing Tuesday 13 May to 10 June 2025. 6:30pm to 8:30pm

    TERM 4: Tuesdays online. Dates TBC. 5 weeks x two hour sessions

YOGA

  • This program is designed to

    • Relax and live with vitality;

    • Master the breath to still the mind, deepen your spiritual awareness;

    • Re-establish loving communication with your body and restore your inner awareness.

  • This program runs every Monday for 90 minutes.

  • TERM 2: 28 April to 4 July 2025. 5:00pm to 6:30pm

    TERM 3: 21 July to 26 September 2025. 5:00pm to 6:30pm

    TERM 4: 13 October to 19 December 2025. 5:00pm to 6:30pm

Trauma Response Training

  • Recognise and respond to the impact of trauma on those we have contact with as WRC facilitators, volunteers, or in everyday life.

    Protect your well-being by equipping you with knowledge and tools to respond from a safe, appropriate, grounded place.  

    Build on the understanding that as individuals, we may have trauma histories of our own.

  • This program runs for 6 weeks and is 2 hours each week.

Managing Emotions in Times of Uncertainty & Stress

  • The link between unregulated emotions and chronic stress is well researched.

    This soothing, experiential program based on proven techniques such as CBT and Mindfulness training offers women greater mastery through increased awareness, emotional intelligence, and somatic practices such as guided relaxation and breath work.

    Come experience improved coping skills, better self- regulation, and a greater capacity emotional capacity for calm, solution centred thinking.

  • This program runs for 4 weeks and is 120 minutes each week.

  • Our next term intake is Tuesday, 18th March, to 8th April 2025.

    From 6:30 pm am to 8:30 pm.

Caring Conversations

  • This program designed to help women on their journey to:

    • Discover a new sense of identity or life direction.

    • Break free from a sense of overwhelm or exhaustion.

    • Discover new growth options and more deeply consider self care.

    The program is designed to be flexible, trauma informed and sensitive to the needs of each individual in the room.

    Each week women will engage in intuitive and caring conversations through interactive exercises that are research informed. You will also be taken through guided meditations to promote self care.

    We believe life is a journey and the first step towards change is often the hardest; we’ve got this together.

  • This program runs for 6 weeks and is 90 minutes each week.

  • Our next term intake is Tuesday, 11th February, to 11th March 2025.

    From 6.30 to 8.30 pm.

Healing Art Workshops

    Healing Art Workshops with Toni-Lou offers art therapy in 4 different mediums and begins on March 14th.
